Trump Derangement Syndrome

The accusation of having TDS aka Trump Derangement Syndrome is an ancient, effective, albeit primitive debate tactic of the cabal that reverts to name-calling in response to a legitimate dispute over an action. Loyalists to one of Trump's causes ought to defend the cause rather than question the sanity of his opponents. In short order, the faithful need to prove the existence of God rather than yell at atheists that they are condemned to damnation.

Substitute the letter of any historical figure such as HDS or SDS for Hitler and Stalin, respectively in the acronym and the prize is won for deflecting from the grievance of European Jews and Russian peasants, respectively. It is no different from asking rape victims what they were wearing nor what stab victims were doing in sketchy neighbourhoods, in order to dismiss the severity of the crimes, even going as far as to propose that the victims deserved the outcomes. In a devious about-turn, the TDS label suggests that an opposition to Trump because of something repugnant, immoral, untrue and hypocritical that he did, is a consequence of an irrational dislike of him, or unjustified revulsion to some cause at which Trump threw scat to see what would stick. As an expert at manipulation, Trump garners support through delusion, deflection and downright disengenuity, the real words to which the D should translate. To the extent that he can't conduct himself with the dignity and aplomb that his elected position requires, it shouldn't be the fault of critics to point it out.
